All of the Collingwood Skating Club's programs are Skate Canada certified. Each program teaches skating skills in progressions, gradually building strong conditioning and technique for skaters of all ages and skill levels. View the CanSkate Parent Handbook for more information.
PreCanSkate
Pre CanSkate is our Learn-to-Skate class for the absolute beginner - recommended age 3+. Skaters will be taught the basic skating fundamentals with a focus on continuous movement through fun activities to keep skaters interested in learning. Pre CanSkate focuses on standing on the ice, learning how to get up and fall down, balance, posture, skating forwards and backwards. This 30-minute group lesson is taught by our Professional Coaches, with assistance from our Club Program Assistants. This class is offered once a week.

CanSkate
CanSkate is the National learn-to-skate program. CanSkate programs emphasize fun, participation, challenge and achievement. Skaters progress through six stages learning three fundamental movements. This program prepares skaters to move on to the next levels of skating, which may include figure skating, hockey, ringette, synchronized, or power skating.

Power Skating
**NEW PROGRAM**
A professionally coached session focused on balance, control, and agility, including components of power and speed to enhance skating for hockey and ringette players. Skating skills, techniques and performance drills are taught in a progressive format by Skate Canada coaches certified through the NCCP.

STARSkate
Star Skate offers opportunities for figure skaters of all ages to develop fundamental skills, ice dancing, interpretive, and synchronized skating. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system and to compete in competitions.
