2026 Annual Carnival:

We LOVE The Arts

Collingwood Skating Club presents We Love the Arts, our annual ice show featuring skating by our beginner to advanced skaters.

This year's guest skater is Violetta Afanasieva and our MC is Erica Angus of Theatre Collingwood.

This family-friendly event is a fun time for everyone with lots of entertainment, music and, of course, ice skating!

Our 2026 Guest Skater is:

Violetta Afanasieva

Born into a figure skating family in Moscow, Violetta began skating almost as soon as she could walk. She trained and competed with Moscow’s Lokomotiv Figure Skating Club, reaching national competition level by age eleven. At twelve, she made the bold decision to leave amateur sport and join the Moscow Circus on Ice, where she discovered her passion for performance and storytelling on ice.

Violetta went on to skate with Holiday on Ice, where she met her future pairs partner and husband, Canadian skater Pete Dack. Together, they became the first-ever World Extreme Figure Skating Champions in 2006 and performed worldwide with Stars on Ice, Art on Ice, Celebration on Ice, and tours led by legends such as Yuzuru Hanyu, Evgeni Plushenko, Philippe Candeloro, and Katarina Witt. They also headlined the Mirvish production Blades on Stage in Toronto and appeared for five seasons on CBC’s Battle of the Blades.

Now proudly Canadian, Violetta coaches at the Gloucester Figure Skating Club while continuing to perform internationally, including Yuzuru Hanyu’s show in Sendai this March. She is passionate about inspiring skaters to dream boldly, trust their bodies, and find their own voice on the ice.

We are an inclusive club operating within our community, encouraging our youth to lead an active lifestyle, while promoting our beloved winter sport. As a not-for-profit organization we want to ensure this activity stays affordable for all families. Silver: $150 – 1⁄2 page printed ad* (8”W x 5”H), logo on website
Gold: $300 – full page printed ad* (8”W x 10.5”H), logo on website

Diamond: $400 - full page colour ad (8”W x 10.5”H), logo included on website, a social media spotlight, two carnival entrance tickets
